'PERFECT' CRAPPIE JIG
New Colors!!!
A lot of you crappie anglers have been after us to make the PERFECT Crappie Jig in what appear to be the two most popular colors in the country - a solid chartreuse and a hot pink version. So, we listened and made up a number of prototypes utilizing those colors. Then, we tested them while fishing in Florida, Alabama, Arkansas, North Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee waters.
The results are our two new colors: the ‘Slick Willie’, in solid chartreuse, and the ‘Hot Momma’, a hot pink body, w/chartreuse tail version. All color shades caught fish. But, the colors we finally selected were just awesome. The ‘Hot Momma’ may be the all time best I have ever seen for very stained to muddy waters. At one time, I would always use a hot pink tube jig when the water was exceptionally dirty. But, tubes tear up and slip down on the jig head a lot. The PERFECT Crappie Jig in our hot pink, w/chartreuse tail, is just what its name says – perfect!
The ‘Slick Willie’ is the ultimate answer to the angler who likes solid chartreuse. It is just perfect. Maybe we hit right on the ideal shade of chartreuse color. Whatever, it is as good as any color we carry, including our usual ‘go-to’ color, the cinnamon, w/chartreuse tail PERFECT jig.
Yesterday, Harry Chrzanowski (try to say that one, sports fans!!) and I went over to Lake Junaluska in Waynesville, NC. All we took were six jigs each – Harry had the ‘Hot Momma’ and I used the ‘Slick Willie’. The small lake was somewhat stained with clay from recent rains that flowed in from two feeder creeks. We went to an area that had some wood and grass in 7-16 feet of water. When all the dust and foam settled, the ‘Hot Momma’ won out with a two-to-one advantage in a 76 crappie catch. I can attribute that, I think, to the bad water color and the high visibility of the ‘Hot Momma’s’ hot pink coloration. Previously, in normally stained waters, the ‘Slick Willie’ was usually a slight winner.
Either way, both colors have now been proven as winners. So, you guys and gals that asked for them – here they are!!! ‘Hot Momma’ and ‘Slick Willie’ – as good as it gets.
And, as we always say about the PERFECT Crappie Jig, it’s absolutely the best in the World. If you don’t agree, we’ll give you your cricket money back! Can’t beat that guarantee!
