THE NEW 'DROP-SHOT JOE' WORM
THE PERFECT DROP-SHOT RIG LURE!
After you use the 'DROP-SHOT JOE' on a Drop-Shot Rig, you'll know exactly why we say it is the PERFECT lure for that application.
This 2-1/2 inch worm lure is a very small, partial derivative of our famous Swimming Worm design (i.e., the hooks and line are molded within the body). Its small size assures lots of strikes. During tests, EVERYTHING in the water bit the lure - rainbow trout, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, bluegills, shellcrackers, crappie, and even a small sucker fish known as a Red Horse. So, we call it a 'catch-all' lure.

Our original 2-1/2 inch 'BITTY-BITE' lure was sure a fish-catcher. It caught any and everything that swam. Even rainbow trout loved it.
But, we had one problem that was a continuous irritant - the external part of the leader that was molded into it kept tangling, and it was not very strong.
So, we decided to re-design the little lure. The solution was simple: delete the external leader and tie the line directly onto the uppermost hook-eye, itself.
Testing the new design in North Carolina this summer, we found smallmouth bass, rock bass and, trout went wild over the lure. We rigged the newly designed worm Carolina Rig style using light line and a 1/8 to 3/16 weight with good success. It also did well rigged with a tiny swivel and split shot and retrieved steadily like our SWIMMING WORM.
Then, it hit us like the proverbial 'ton of bricks' - this design was simply PERFECT for using as a Drop-Shot Lure:
- Perfect size finesse lure!
- Perfect hook design for nearly 100% hookups, no matter whether it is rigged with the hooks up or down!

- Ties perfectly and easily with the Palomar knot for a horizontal lie!
We found that three colors were all we seemed to need to catch fish most everywhere:
- Green Pumpkin Pepper Lite - a color we developed using the basic Green Pumpkin Pepper, brightening it a bit, and adding a touch of red and blue fleck to the existing black 'pepper' fleck content; we then added the coup-de-grace -- a touch of pure chartreuse on the tip of the tail; this may be the best color we offer; it's a fish-catcher, that's for sure!!!
- Real Earthworm - seemed to be the best all-round color; caught every kind of fish.
- Grape - was excellent for smallmouth, largemouth and rock bass; was less effective on trout than the earthworm tone.
