Bait for Lake Henderson
Dear Jim,
We live on Lake Henderson, Inverness FL and have been told a good bait is grass shrimp which can be harvested right on the lake. Upon trying this, we didn't have any success. Can you give some pointers as to how exactly to do this harvesting of grass shrimp, like how deep and what to use? Would appreciate your help, as have been unsuccessful with plastic worms, plugs and nightcrawlers.
Sandy
Sandy:
Grass shrimp are very small and found clinging to the roots of most floating grasses. They really like hyacinths. Grab a handful of hyacinths, hold them over a bucket and shake them real good. The shrimp should fall out. Use a tiny hook. They are basically good for panfish and catfish only.

A common question that we get: "Is there somewhere close to get bait and tackle?" This is where we get our bait.
