Lake George Vacation

Dear Jim,

I'm planning a jetski trip to Lake George for the memorial day weekend. Arriving Friday, May 23 or Saturday, May 24 and departing Tuesday, May 27, 2003.

We will be towing two jetski's and would like to enjoy some lake/spring riding and we will need lodging accommodations. Would you please help me in planning this trip? We have no idea which area has lodging equipped with boat ramps, etc. We are looking at staying at least 3 nights. Any help you may offer us (John & Marsha) to plan our trip would be most appreciated.

We live in Melbourne, Florida.

Thanks Jim, look forward to hearing from you!

Marsha

Marsha:

This extract should get you started: "LAKE GEORGE (Putnam & Volusia counties): This lake is a 46,000-acre natural impoundment of the St. Johns River with extensive vegetation that provides an excellent habitat for fish. There are jetties located on the south end of the lake where the St. Johns River enters the lake. Most of the lake is less than 10 feet deep but a natural channel provides navigation for boats as large as oil barges.

Public access can be obtained from Blue Creek Road to Lake George Road off of Highway 40, (See Central Region Boat Ramps for more detail). Private access to Lake George can be obtained from Pine Island fish camp (904-749-2818), Trophy Bass Lodge (904-467-2002), or Camp Henry Resort and marina (904-467-2282). For additional listings of fish camps or further information, please contact our fisheries office in DeLeon Springs at 386-985-7880."

A common question that we get: "Is there somewhere close to get bait and tackle?" This is where we get our bait.
