STICK MARSH, FARM 13

Prime Stick Marsh Giant Bass Season
Is Approaching Fast!!

Our Dance Card Is Filling Fast.
Make Your Reservations As Early As Possible.

It's almost the time for the big sow bass to start growing those egg sacs and getting just plain BIG!! Stick Marsh bass spawn in a period of mid-Dec until early Feb, in a bell curve pattern. The peak will be in mid- to late Jan. Shiners are the best bet for the true trophy heavyweights during that period.

Choose your guide well and make the reservations early. We have done so well and had so many satisfied (nay, exuberant) clients over the years, that we get a tremendous repeat business. So, if you want to fish with a true professional angler, please contact us as early as you can see a fishing 'window of opportunity'. If you have any doubts about the quality of our service, just ask anyone who has fished with us on the Marsh. We will even provide you references.

We are very comfortable catering to professionals and other anglers with 'special' requirements. Jim is a retired military officer and was a senior manager for a major defense contractor. Many of our customers come from government ranks, as well as professional sports. If you have a need for personal attention, please have your appropriate internal activity contact us for interface and verification information.

We also welcome the physically challenged and promise to make your day on the water a great experience for both of us. We need advanced information on your needs. BUT, we can make it all happen!!

Here are a couple of things to consider:
  • Choose your guide carefully. Any guide that continually runs down the other guides is suspect. First, he is probably not a nice person. Second, he may not always be truthful. That is true in life, as well as fishing. So, just be careful.
  • Check some of the guide's previous clients, if possible. Ask him/her for some newspaper article copies about his services and successes. Ask if he runs a stopwatch on your fishing day and will halt after X-number of hours, even if the bite is really on. I think the question really is "Does he guide like to fish and enjoy his job, or is it just a business to him/her.
  • Another very significant point is: Does the guide fish? IF so, is he in the front of the boat, fishing in front of you and catching your fish?? Some do that and they can shut you out. We have fun when we go out. Our normal day runs into 9-10 hours, because we hate to stop. We LIKE what we do and we LIKE to see others have the opportunity to catch bass like we have had the privilege to do on the Stick Marsh for the past 13 years.
  • We know that body of water like our own home. NO ONE has fished it more, longer, nor in as much detail as we have. So, if you plan to take a ride on the Stick Marsh Express for giant bass or giant crappie, give us a bit of consideration. I doubt you will regret it.

BUT, you WILL regret NOT booking early when we fill up!! We put a LOT of effort into our service and, consequently, only fish 4 days a week. The rest is planning and preparation.

NOTE: 2002-2003 season statistics: largest - 13.7 lbs.; three in the 12+ lb. window; 4 in the 11+ lb. window; the 10+ lb. window statistics appear to be 12-15 (as we really don't record those too diligently). The Marsh produces an extremely high number of 8-9 lb. bass, with nearly all trips taking at least a 6-lb. 'biggie'.

So, get off your duff and
LET'S GO FISH!!

A common question that we get: "Is there somewhere close to get bait and tackle?" This is where we get our bait.
