OLD FISHIN' TIPSTER'S
TIPS AND TRICKS

Got a question about fishing, that you have never been able to figure out?

Well, along comes old Fishin' Tipster, Weekend Semi-Pro and resident backlash picking champion, with the solution.

Boat trailers are a pain to jack up when tire fixin' time comes.

Got a big old heavy tandem trailer? Well, along comes old Fishin' Tipster, Weekend Semi-Pro and resident backlash picking champion, with a great solution for the jack problem.

Look at the accompanying photo. This a home-made device, if there ever was one. But, it works like it came from Billy Bob Joe's Million-Dollar Auto Parts Store. It's just some pieces of spare lumber that Tipster sorta modified. You can drive that good tire right up on this little jewel and the flat one is suddenly right off the ground. No arm power required and it ain't gonna fall off the jack, either!

Just be sure to angle the cuts on the front edge of the board pieces so the tire can roll up them easily. Also, note the big old metal spike at the front end. The spike goes through an oversized hole drilled in the base board and will anchor the 'jack' to keep it from sliding on grass. The one in the photo was put together rather quickly one afternoon from what was available. If I do it again, I would use 2 X 8-size lumber.

A common question that we get: "Is there somewhere close to get bait and tackle?" This is where we get our bait.
