Got a question about fishing, that you have never been able to figure out?
Well, along comes old Fishin' Tipster, Weekend Semi-Pro and resident backlash picking champion, with the solution.
Some of the newer bass boats are coming with a recessed mount for the front depth finder. On others, you still have to select a spot on the front deck to mount the unit. And, if you are not careful, the trolling motor cable is going to wind up right across the face of the unit.
Well, along comes old Fishin' Tipster, Weekend Semi-Pro and resident backlash picking champion, with an easy solution.
First, check how the trolling motor cable lays when the motor is stowed and when it is in the operating position. If it doesn't block your view of the depthfinder, or catch on the unit as you raise/lower the motor, great. But, if it does, take a look at the accompanying photo. There is little cable movement down close to the foot pedal. So, we can position that portion of the cable and add a clamp to hold it away from the depth finder face. Just be sure not to restrict necessary movement of the cable during raise/lower actions.
