DIRTY BOAT ANCHORS
In the Stick Marsh, I use an anchor a lot. Whether it is positioning for shiner fishing, or to fish a known spot with artificials, the anchors get a LOT of use. This is especially true during our present windy season.
The Marsh bottom is often very muddy, with thick black mud that looks and gets on everything like gumbo mud. Sometimes, it is difficult to pull up and anchor and clean it off well. That can make for a messy boat, especially when the mud and other residue gets on the carpet.
Well, here is a neat solution that keeps the boat clean. Simply get a truck floor mat that has a deep design to catch and hold mud and water. They are made so your muddy boats or snow on your feet don't get on the truck/SUV/car's carpet. It will also do the same thing for the boat, except it contains the mud and other debris from the anchor.
The mat is easy to wash/rinse clean. Plus, if you get one that is soft like gum rubber, it will hold the anchor and keep it from sliding on the carpet when running rough water.
