OLD FISHIN' TIPSTER'S
TIPS AND TRICKS
Got a question about fishing, that you have never been able to figure out?
Well, along comes old Fishin' Tipster, Weekend Semi-Pro and resident backlash picking champion, with the solution.
SAVING THAT MONEY ON LINES
Never, never spool your reel full of line. First, fill the spool about 1/3rd to halfway with backing. The backing can be old line, or some you just won't otherwise use. Then, add about 50-60 yards of the primary line. You never use more than that much when fishing anyway. Then, when you decide it's time to change line, remember to re-use the primary line one more time. It's simple. Just tie the end of the primary to a tree or fence and walk it off the spool. Cut it where it is joined to the backing. Now go tie the end that's on the fence post to the backing. All you did was turn the line around and now have the little-used portion up front. It's not called 'being cheap'; it's called 'being smart'!
